Soul Sister shawl
Soul Sister shawl
The Soul Sister Shawl is a big sister to my popular Soul Sister Scarf. You can wrap this shawl around your neck and shoulders on the coldest days for extra warmth! The shawl is worked from one tip to the other. It is knitted in the puff rib stitch, which makes it squishy and warm.
The length of the shawl can easily be modified. Just keep adding more rows for a bigger version. You can also finish the shawl by adding tassels or pom poms to the tips.
Size
Total length: 175 cm / 69 inches
Total width: 29 cm / 11.5 inches
Yarn
Note: The pattern uses a strand of sport weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight yarn, but they can be substituted for a single strand of worsted weight yarn. If you wish to work a worsted weight version, omit all the instructions where it says “hold the yarns together” and follow only the yarn amount requirements for the sport weight yarn.
925 m / 1010 yards of fingering weight yarn and 925 m / 1010 yards of lace weight silk mohair.
Sample shawl: 5 balls of De Rerum Natura Ulysse (100% merino wool; 185 m / 202 yards per 50g), shown in colorway Cacao, and 5 balls of Mohair by Canard Brushed Lace (72% kid mohair, 28% mulberry silk; 210 m / 229 yards per 25g), shown in colorway 3041 Kaffe.
