Lykke tee
THIS KNITTING PATTERN IS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD IN PDF FORMAT AND IN ENGLISH ONLY!
Lykke is a Scandinavian name meaning luck and happiness.
The Lykke tee has a boxy fit and dropped shoulders. The chevron stitch pattern is knitted by increasing and decreasing stitches. Despite the zigzag pattern, there is no stranded colorwork in the pattern. Instead, the colors are knitted in stripes and the chevron stitch pattern creates the zigzag effect. The increases over the chevron pattern on the back and front neck are fully charted.
The tee is started at the back neck and increased to the full width of the back. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders and worked as the front of the tee. The front and back are joined at underarm and the body is then worked in the round. Stitches are then picked up from the body for the sleeves and the neckband. The sleeves are also worked in the chevron pattern with stripes. Contrasting stripes are added to the hem, neckband and cuffs, and they are finished with a tubular bind off, which provides a beautiful and stretchy edge that looks like the stitches roll over the edge to the other side of the ribbing.
The Lykke tee is worked by holding two strands of fingering weight yarn held together but you can also work it in a single strand of DK weight yarn.
The length of the body and sleeves are easily modified to suit your own body measurements. I recommend trying the tee on every now and then while working on it to make sure you get the perfect length for your style.
