THIS KNITTING PATTERN IS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD IN PDF FORMAT AND IN ENGLISH ONLY!

The Lily vest is knitted seamlessly top-down. The vest is started at the back of the neck and worked down towards the underarm. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders for the front. The front and back are joined at the underarm and the body is then worked in one piece. The stitches are bound off at the waist and then picked up again for the peplum hem. The bind off edge will keep the transition between the body and the peplum hem sturdy and prevent any unwanted flaring. The hem is knitted in the round, and the bottom edge is folded for a minimalistic finishing.

There are two options for the front and you can choose either a button front version with double knitted buttonbands or a tie-front version with i-cords. Both versions have i-cord edgings around the armholes and the neck.

I recommend choosing yarns with a lot of drape, such as linen, silk or cotton, but you could also work the vest with a combination of fingering weight yarn and silk mohair.

The length of the body is easily modified to suit your own body measurements. I recommend trying the vest on every now and then while working on it to make sure you get the perfect length for your style. The pattern now includes instructions for turning the vest into a dress!
